DJ Drama Doesn't Want To Beef With Jeezy

Recently, at the Dirty Awards in Atlanta, T.I.'s and Shawty Lo's camps weren't the only ones to have a physical altercation. La the Darkman — Dram's friend and business partner — was in a fight with a member of Jeezy's Corporate Thugz Entertainment squad. Darkman said the scuffle stemmed from Jeezy dropping an F-bomb in front of Drama's name during a performance of The-Dream's "I Luv Your Girl" at his September album-release party in NYC.
On Thursday, an e-mail blast containing a song called "They Keep Talking" sent out by La's label, SRC Records, hinted that the track may be a dis record addressing the Snowman. Drama downplayed the tension between the two factions, MTV reports.
"As far as the altercation [at the Dirty Awards] goes, I can't really speak on it, because I wasn't there at the time. The Dirty Awards had already gotten crazy. As far as Young Jeezy and DJ Drama, DJ Drama and Young Jeezy made history together. I think DJ Drama is very important in Young Jeezy's career, as Young Jeezy is important in DJ Drama's career. I respect Jeezy, I like his music. There may be some things we don't see eye to eye on. Even with that, that's something that's between me and Jeezy, between homies and family.
"At the end of the day, I'm out playing good music," Drama added. "He makes good music, I rock it. Other than that, it's not too much I can speak upon."
As to what kicked off the differences in the first place, Drama said, "You may have to ask Jeezy about that. I continue to move forward. I'm sure in the future, me and Jeezy will work together. I'm here to get busy, man. I'm a DJ. That's what I do. I support good music."
Drama said he's been playing Young's "My President" at his spinning gigs and will not be biased against Jeezy.
"I love that song. That's the anthem. Why wouldn't I [play it]?" Drama said. "If there are things me and Jeezy need to speak about, that's for us to do. It's not for the public. I heard La's interview when he was on the Internet. Again, we're not here to escalate anything or condone anything, we're here to make good music. I'm gonna speak highly of everybody, because we're in Atlanta. How does that look to the fans? How does that look to the people if DJ Drama and Young Jeezy are beefing? That's not what we're here for. People wanna see us make history again."
T.I. has even offered to play mediator if his assistance is needed.
"Both of them are my guys," Tip told Shade 45 radio hosts Elliott Wilson and Angela Yee. "We're working on it right now. It's love."
Drama said that the situation hasn't gotten so out of hand that the duo need a peacekeeper: "I don't think, to my awareness, that it's got to that point."
Jeezy and Drama connected for one of the biggest mixtapes of the decade, Gangsta Grillz: Trap or Die. The project solidified Young and Dram as kings of the street game. They also connected for the follow-ups Can't Ban the Snowman and I Am the Street Dream and their very first joint effort, Tha Streets Iz Watchin.
